Spaced revision for interview preparation: a practical routine
What is spaced revision?
Spaced revision means returning to material across separate study sessions instead of concentrating every repetition in one sitting. For interview practice, combine it with recall: attempt an answer before reading notes, then compare the explanation and correct the gaps.
A flexible starting routine
Answer a small set of role-relevant questions today, revisit uncertain ones in the next session, and return to them again after other topics. Lengthen the gap when you can explain the concept and handle follow-ups; shorten it when you cannot. This is a suggested practice routine rather than a scientifically calibrated schedule for every learner.
Track evidence of understanding
Mark a question as difficult when you cannot state the main idea, explain an example or defend a decision. Feeling familiar with an answer is not the same as recalling it. Include a changed example or new follow-up in later sessions so you test understanding rather than recognition.
Use the Interview Challenge carefully
wasAsked’s Interview Challenge offers a structured practice workspace for published questions. Its self-ratings reflect your own assessment and are not automatic correctness grades. Pair revision with primary documentation, a reproducible exercise or constructive feedback when a technical claim is uncertain.
